Terror From Inside the 3rd Dimension!
Start Time: 7:30pm
Running May 9-15, 2022, Hybrid by Design features seven works by artists from The Theatre Centre’s Residency program and a selection of international work curated by Battersea Arts Centre in London, U.K. As part of Canada Council’s Digital Now program, the work featured will bridge live performance and digital creation in experimental, genre-defying ways ensuring audiences in-person and at home can experience the show of a lifetime.
Terror From Inside the 3rd Dimension!
Terror from Inside the 3rd Dimension is an online show using multiple conferencing platforms, integrating augmented reality & virtual reality. Wander across online platforms interacting with live performers who are digital avatars in a time-limited adventure story/escape room video game. The story has been evolving as we develop the structure & is being finalized presently. The intention in building the show was initially to research online performance, developing into an examination of digital interactivity with audiences & then become an interrogation into the experience of being both connected & disconnected online. The present plan is to use Zoom, Mozilla Hubs, Kumospace & Gathertown in a seamless way, audience moving through each of the various modes of those platforms, with a threading dynamic narrative that is site-specific to each digital space, connected by a larger narrative that unites all the spaces.
